Fully Known

"Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." 1 Corinthians 13:12

I hope that this blog can be a place where I will share thoughts from my journal, my words to God, and sometimes His words to me. I love to walk in the forest, to be quiet and talk to Jesus in my heart. I love to write down what I hear in my thoughts as I read His Word. I'd like to think of the entries in this journal as quiet stopping places along the wooded path of my spiritual journey. I see this as a place where I can know myself, but also, in sharing what God has spoken to my heart, I can be known by you. I hope that you enjoy this interior journey with me.

However, if you've known me for long you know that I’m not just about quiet contemplation and pensive interior moments. In fact, one of the ways that I find my hyper-active mind and energetic body work best together is when I’m moving, fast. I love to connect with God when I’m careening down the side of a mountain on my bike, free falling through powder on my snowboard, or racing the lip of a breaking wave. As Eric Liddell said, “I feel God’s pleasure when I run.” Often, it’s in those moments of absolute exhilaration that I have the most palpable sense of His presence, and my mind and heart get very quiet even in the midst of the rush. So you’ll see here pictures and entries that capture the kinetic side of my spiritual journey as well.
